Khairul MUNADI
Khairul Munadi received his B.E. degree from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Surabaya, Indonesia in 1996, and the M.Eng.,and Ph.D. degrees from Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU), Japan, in 2004 and 2007 respectively, majoring in electrical engineering. Since 1999, he joined Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, Indonesia, as a lecturer at the Electrical Engineering Department. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami motivated him to put interest in studying disaster risk reduction (DRR) related issues. He has been a member of Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center (TDMRC) of Syiah Kuala University since 2008. From 2013, he has been serving as the Head of TDMRC. He is also a lecturer in Disaster Management at the Graduate Program in Disaster Science and Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering of Syiah Kuala University. His research interests include image & multimedia information processing, application of ICT in disaster risk reduction (DRR), and knowledge management for DRR.
Nazli ISMAIL

Secretary of Master Program of Disaster Sciences, Syiah Kuala University; teaching staff at Department of Physics, Geophysical Engineering and Master Program of Disaster Science; Chair of geohazards division, Tsunami and Disasters Mitigation Research Center (TDMRC); Research interests include application of geophysical methods, especially electromagnetics and potential field methods, for exploration, environmental, geothermal and geohazards studies
Ibnu RUSYDY
I obtained my bachelor degree in Physics (Geophysics) from Syiah Kuala University in 2006. In 2009 I continues my study and obtained Master of Science (M.Sc) from National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia – UKM) in Engineering Geology focusing on applied Geophysics and graduated in 2011. I started my carrier as staff and Geo-hazard researcher at Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center Syiah Kuala University in 2011 and in 2014 accepted as lecturer at Geological Engineering Department, Syiah Kuala University. My research interests were in earthquake mitigation and earthquake Engineering, landslide prevention, volcano, geological hazard mapping, Sub-surface survey for Geotechnical and mineral exploration.
Suhada Arief
Suhada Arief was born in 1982 in Lhokseumawe about 200 km from Banda Aceh to the east. He obtained bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Gadjah Mada University in 2006. In 2010 he continues his study and obtained Master Engineering (M.Eng) from Gadjah Mada University in Civil Engineering focusing on Water Engineering. After graduated, He returned to Aceh and started his carrier as GIS Analyst staff focusing on disaster risk map at TDMRC (Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center). He collaborated with TDMRC team’s produce some of disaster risk map in district level like Aceh Barat, Aceh Tamiang, Banda Aceh, Subulussalam, Gayo Lues, Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah. His research interests are risk mapping and spatial planning.. He can be reached at his email address: suhada@tdmrc.org.
Ella MEILIANDA
Dr. Ella Meilianda was born in Banda Aceh on May 30th, 1975. She graduated her Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh in 1999, and subsequently continued to finish her Master Degree in Coastal Engineering in the Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2001. In April 2004, she started her PhD study in the Water Engineering and Management Department of the University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. The initial topic of the research was related to the integrated coastal zone management which case study taken for the Banda Aceh coast. After the tsunami event in December 2004 has significantly changed the coastal area due to severe destruction by the tsunami waves, she decided to adapt her research topic into understanding the morphological development of the tectono-tsunami-affected coasts which took the same study location. She earned her PhD in coastal morphology later in June 2009. She had an opportunity to pursue her career as a coastal scientist by taking a Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2010-2012 in the International Research Training INTERCOAST in the University of Bremen, Germany. The research project has a collaboration with the Waikato University of New Zealand, at which she had an opportunity for a short-term research stay. After having a wealth of International research experiences, she returned to Banda Aceh where she continues her career as a scientist with an extent of management duties in TDMRC along with her regular duty as the teaching staff at the Civil Engineering Department of Syiah Kuala University.
Intan Dewi Kumala
Intan Dewi Kumala is a lecturer at Department of Psychology University of Syiah Kuala, whose expertise is in trauma and disaster psychology. Intan did her undergraduate in psychology at Gadjah Mada University and master degree in Trauma and Disaster Psychology at University of Indonesia. She teaches Introduction to Disaster Psychology, Disaster Intervention and Management, Social Psychology, and Peace Psychology. She is also a researcher at Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Centre (TDMRC) University of Syiah Kuala. Her research interest focuses on Community Based and School-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Program, Post-Disaster and Post-Conflict Mental Health Impacts and Intervention, and Program Evaluation.
Moreover, Intan facilitates training on disaster risk reduction and psychosocial support program for local community, red cross volunteers and government officials. In addition to that, she has five-year field experience as Red Cross and Red Crescent staff and volunteer providing initial response and implementing rehabilitation program for several disasters in Indonesia (e.g 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami in Aceh, 2006 Padang earthquake, 2007 earthquake and volcanic eruption in Yogyakarta and Central Java, 2007 Bengkulu earthquake and 2013 Gayo earthquake).
