Joint field work

Every year, Southeast Asia of three countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines) among the two regions and in Japan, conducted a joint field work and joint research in the framework of multilateral, to proceed with the research exchange.

2015 joint field work (Philippines / Japan)

To convey to the Japanese system and technology is a disaster prevention developed countries on the applicable form to the Asian countries, as well as state-of-the-art systems and technology, we must also together convey disaster prevention culture and disaster prevention practices rooted in the society . For this reason, from a regional research point of view, to share a method to study the way of disaster response in light of the social background, we conducted a survey to form the foundation of the joint research of the next fiscal year.

International Seminar

2015 International Seminar

~International Workshop "Toward Building Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia"〜

Disaster as a natural phenomenon, but similarly it occurs regardless of the region and age, how to correspond to the damage caused by disasters, by region and age, different. Gathered researchers from ASEAN countries tackle the disaster response, deepen the understanding of the features of the disaster response by the country, held a multilateral seminar to be an opportunity to think about the features of the disaster response in the respective countries of origin compared with other countries, Asia It has prompted the formation of understanding that will contribute to the foundation of disaster prevention community formation.

Outline

Towards the international human network construction for making disaster prevention community in the Asia scale, researchers gather, organize and share information on disaster prevention and mitigation practices in each country, we examined the characteristics of each country.

After completion of the workshop, young researchers who participated from the ASEAN countries Kyoto, Kagawa Prefecture, participated in the study tour, including disaster prevention education facilities and the Great East Japan Earthquake affected areas visit of Tokyo, an understanding of the disaster prevention and mitigation practices of Japan It deepened.
